Special Considerations for the 2019 One-Day Malibu GRANFONDO on Saturday, March 16, 2019

  • While there are timed sections, the event is not a race and it rolls rain or shine.

  • Athletes must pick up timing chip at the start and return the chip after crossing the finish line.

  • Provided ID card is to be kept with you the entire weekend & allows access based on your registration.

  • Bib number is to be affixed to the LEFT SIDE of the jersey only.

  • There are three timing segments on the Classico course and two timing segments on the Medio course. Timing segments will be combined to determine age group category and overall winners. Awards categories can be viewed on the FAQ page of our website.

  • Rest stop hours have taken into consideration the varied paces of our riders. Athletes are encouraged to enjoy the experience along the Malibu GRANFONDO route(s), while allowing enough time to return to finish in time for lunch.

  • Lunch at the Westlake Village Studios begins at 1:00pm and ends promptly at 4:00pm.

  • SAG support vehicles will be available throughout the day. Please be aware of Rest Stop hours and understand that if you arrive outside these hours, support may not be available. (See your Ride Book)

  • All athletes must use bike lanes or ride as far to the right as is safe. Athletes are expected to follow all rules of the road. All roads are open to vehicular traffic.

  • Course will be marked with bright blue route arrows and directional signage. Use caution when directed.
